What are massage experiences at Element Earth like?

My intention is to provide a safe space where your specific massage needs are met with sensitivity and authenticity. As such, the massage I offer is one where your physical, mental and emotionally requirements will be considered and blended into your massage experience.

Massage can help release your physical and emotional tensions and ease out pain in specific areas. It can also address physical conditions where muscle condition and inflammation are an issue. Massage may also soften the often debilitating experience of anxiety, depression and stress.

I listen openly to your past and current physical experiences (and also emotional ones to, where necessary, as our emotional and 'feeling' self can also impact how we feel in our bodies) and together we agree a way forward for your massage. I usually combine my knowledge of different massage techniques to create an individual experience which meets your needs on the day and create a plan for going forward.

Pregnancy Massage

Sessions incorporate massage and shiatsu, and include visualisations, relaxation techniques and movement for pregnancy. Massage and shiatsu work can take place on the massage table, on a futon mattress on the floor or on a birthing ball.

Each session will be tailored to your needs. On the day we will go through a consultation to ensure you receive the best massage that is suitable for you, at your stage of pregnancy. Women at any stage of pregnancy are welcome and the intention of the sessions is to support you to rest, relax, and focus on connecting with your own inner wisdom and the connection with your baby.

Included in the pregnancy package, I offer sessions for partners or birth partners to learn how to massage their partners through pregnancy and labour. I also offer post-natal massage sessions which are recommended. Your baby can even come with you for these sessions as I use a futon on the floor, and your baby can lie next t you whist you are massaged.

Certification

I completed training in Holistic and Deep Tissue Massage with the Bristol College of Massage and Body Work (BCMB) in 2014. I have also trained with BCMB in Deep Tissue Massage. I have completed a course in 'The Female Pelvis and the Cycles of Life' with Tom Myers (Anatomy Trains) and broadened my understanding of the body through studying  Level 1 and 2 Myofascial Release (MFR) with MyoFascial Release UK.

Most recently, I have completed a 4 day pregnancy massage training with Suzanne Yates at WellMother and have fully qualified with a Credit for the assessed practical work and a Distinction for both my extended essay and case study submissions. I qualified in June 2019.
